Good morning,

I hit a sort of roadblock in what I want to do with this site I think. Part of it is the fact that I got very busy, and I just didn't have time to play around on it. The other is that I also don't know if/how I can really about "me" lol... sigh.

Been trying to figure out how I really want this layout to look in my site. I have a lot of ideas, but cant seem to get anything concrete down. I think the obvious answer it to continue learning and maybe do some mockups before just going in and trying everything hoping that it works. Ah well...

Ugh, also there's this on assignment that I really want to post on here, it's a zine about the movie Xica Da Silva directed by Carlos Diegues in 1976. But, I think some of my analysis in the zine itself needs some mior editing. Unlike the Emperor's Girls, I did not get a perfect score on that one LOL but stll a decent mark. Largely a lot of grammar errors and whatnot. The problem is just that CANVA is not a fantastic platform for the type of design I wanted to accomplish on that project.

I ended 2025 by getting into a minor car crash. I shouldnt say minor as the car is now totalled, but we got barely a bruise or a scrape. If anything, standing in the cold did the most damage. Well, we leave that energy behind for sure.

We did also start the new year (at least when we got home) by doing some reorganizations of our room. Every day it looks cozier and more personalized! Next stop, getting some guitar stands and hang some paintings

The Plots of Monte Cristo: the importance of maps in contextualizing the Count of Monte Cristo

A short reflection on the usefulness of maps in fiction (especially historical fiction) and some map references I found to accompany my reading journey with the Count of Monte Christo.

EDMOND DANTÈS AND IDENTITY: Thoughts on The Count of Monte Christo Up To Chapter 31

I'm currently reading the Oxford revised edition, translated by David Coward from 2008. I went into this because I was influenced by Chriskindareads on instagram posting about how good it was, and I needed ANOTHER project, such as a 1000 page book, to focus on. I've never read oe studied this book in my life, and I've never really paid attention to anything coming from the French Romantics (I say that like I was ever an English major or anything lol. I don't think I've read much of ANY of the Romantics...) so I imagine any observations I make will be, at best, quite surface level high school shit, if they taught TCOMC in high school.

The Emperor's Girls

Originally submitted on Dec. 18 2023 as a part of my take home final exam for ANT320: Ancient Cultures of the Andes at the UofT, for an optional extra marks. Pasted with only minor adjustments in grammar.

Pens, inks, and notes

What better way to introduce you to me than to give you a tour of my closest friends? Check out my writing and planning tool , and some musings on how I organize my life. For the record, I do very little creative writing in these, just diary entries and crafts and planning!
